Aberdeen Youth Choir – Group Assistant (Job)

The Aberdeen Youth Choir gives specialist group singing lessons to children aged 6yrs – 17yrs. Our sessions are at Northfield Community Centre on thursday nights from 6pm – 7.30pm.

The Group Assistant helps the Group Leader to run the choir sessions; doing vocal warm-ups, running small sectional rehearsals.

Experience of running small musical groups and being able to read sheet music is essential. Music qualifications are not essential but applicants should be able to prove a commitment to improving their community music skills. Piano skills are also desirable but not essential.

The Group Assistant position is a freelance position. The successful applicant will be paid £20 per session, payable by invoice to Aberdeen Youth Choir.

Candidates will be invited to join the choir for one session and do a vocal warm-up and rhythm game with them as part of the selection process.
