Update on our Visual Arts Review Open Sessions | Creative Scotland

January 19, 2016

We’d like to thank all of the people that have registered for the Visual Arts Open Sessions in Glasgow and Edinburgh.  These sessions are an important part of the Visual Arts Sector review and provide a great opportunity for people to share their priorities for future development with colleagues from across the sector. There are still spaces available at both sessions and we are keen to encourage as many people as possible to sign up and to contribute their views.  The Glasgow meeting will take place at the Trades Hall from 10am to 4pm on 2 February, with contributions from Sarah McCrory, Director of Glasgow international; Torsten Lauschmann, Artist; Emma Nicholson, Director of ATLAS Arts, Skye.  The Edinburgh meeting will take place at the Playfair Library from 10am to 4pm on 11 February, with contributions from Sorcha Carey, Director of the Edinburgh Art Festival;  Rachel Maclean, Artist; Nuno Sacramento, Director of SSW. Please note – the Visual Arts Open Session that was due to be held in Inverness on 4 February is being re-scheduled for March and we will be posting further details shortly.    We have earmarked 50 Attendance Allowances of £75 each to support the participation of artists, curators and other people working as freelance/self-employed in the sector.  If we receive a higher number of requests than we can support we will allocate these allowances on the basis of achieving a diversity of representation at each session e.g. across gender, geography, role/occupation. People can register for the events by emailing visualarts@creativescotland.com by Wednesday 27 January, 2016. Please provide: name; role/occupation within the sector; where you are based; the session you’d like to attend; whether you would like to be considered for an Attendance Allowance; any specific access or dietary requirements.
