Sustaining Life as a Creative Creative Learning Team Deadline: 09 December 2015 at 17:00 Professional Development Programme for Artists Sustaining Life as a Creative is a bespoke professional development programme available to support individuals who have already built up their creative skills and are looking to apply their artforms, build on their experience and widen their employment options in the arts. The six days will involve reflective and practical learning alongside experienced lead artists, who will present their own creative journeys and share their experience and knowledge of how they sustain and develop their creative practices and balance everyday life. Individuals will map out and reflect on their own journeys to date and will be encouraged to take the time to discover where they want to go next. During the explorative, collaborative and reflective group sessions, invaluable professional and practical support is on hand providing useful tips, tools and contacts to assist individuals to take forward their own ideas and move their creative practice forward. Individuals will be supported to plan, develop and present their creative practice to peers. Through peer feedback, individuals will develop their own bespoke creative action plan to map out and focus on their next steps. For this year’s programme, SLAAC is looking to recruit creative individuals at the early stages of their career, already in or considering creative employment or self-employment. The programme would also suit individuals who are looking to get back on track with a career in the arts. Sessions will take place on Thursdays (10am – 2pm) 11, 18, 25 February, 3, 10, 17 March 2016 at Rosemount Learning Centre. Spaces are limited and are fully funded by the Creative Learning Team at Aberdeen City Council.
