V&A Illustration Awards 2016

Entry into the Awards is free The V&A Illustration Awards are held annually to highlight the best book and magazine illustration published in the UK. The awards have been running since 1972 and have included a student category since 2005. All entries, including past winners, can be viewed on the main V&A Illustration Awards page. Each year, the winning books are added to the holdings of the National Art Library and may be read in the Library’s Reading Rooms in the V&A. There are three categories for published illustration: Book Cover Design Book Illustration Editorial Illustration (newspapers and magazines) The winner in each category receives £3,000 and a trophy. The judges also select an overall winner to receive an additional £5,000. Winners may also be commissioned to produce publicity artwork for the Museum. Student Illustration The winner of the student category (Student Illustrator of the Year 2016) receives £3,000 and a trophy, while a runner up receives £2,000. How to enter the 2016 Awards Entry to the V&A Illustration Awards is free and takes place via the online entry form only. You will need to register before submitting your entry. To do so, use the link in the Submit an entry box on the right hand side of the page and select the Create new account tab. Once you have registered you can log in following the same link. If you have previously registered, but have forgotten your username or password, please re-register. Please read the Terms and Conditions carefully. The closing date is 10 December 2015 Winners will be announced at the Awards ceremony on 23 May 2016. The judges’ decision is final.
