Community Out of Bounds: Collaborate Residencies
July 31, 2015
Community Out of Bounds
Applications are now open for a series of month long residencies for individuals and groups to undertake a period of research, experimentation and collaboration.
Arts practitioners from across all artforms and individuals from non-arts industries that would like the opportunity to collaborate with an artist are invited to apply. The residencies provide individuals with the space and time to focus on idea generation, critical conversation, creative freedom and risk. We want to give visibility to work that challenges boundaries between disciplines and occupations. Groups of 2-15 people can apply. Individuals are eligible to apply to be paired with a new collaborator selected from other successful individual applicants.
Artists are asked to hold at least one event as part of their residency to share their work with the public but there is no requirement to produce final work. The Creative Learning Team will support the promotion of these events.
Successful applicants will be given access to a self-contained studio unit at Ruthrieston Community Centre, outdoor space and a budget of £400 per residency to develop their work and hold a public event.
Application Deadline: 18 August 2015 Midnight
Dates and Duration: Residencies will run for 4 weeks each between September 2015 and March 2016.
To apply for a Collaborate Residency, please send a proposal in PDF format containing the following:
• A proposal of no more than 500 words outlining what you would like to use the time and space for, why you would like to collaborate and who is involved. You can include samples of work to be explored in your proposal. File size should not exceed 5MB.
• Contact details of all individuals involved with a main point of contact identified.
• Preferred month/s of residency. (Please note while we will endeavour to allocate successful applications their preferred month, we cannot guarantee.)
