Freed Market: How do we feed ourselves?

Seventeen, Aberdeen and Scottish Sculpture Workshop, Lumsden are commissioning two artists; one established and one early career artist to work within a new collaborative project.

Freed Market: How do we feed ourselves? Is a durational project curated by Rachel Grant set within Seventeen, and linking with the monthly Belmont Saturday market in Aberdeen. Artists will generate public interventions and events over a period of four months. This will encourage dialogue between artists and citizens who inhabit the city centre. The project will ask the question: How do we feed ourselves?

The main project activity will take place between August and November 2015 with public talks, interventions and events, culminating in a final showcase and

symposium at Seventeen. The project will also involve one week artists’ residency at

Scottish Sculpture workshop from the 31st August to 7th September 2015.
