Extreme Art School launches in Aberdeen

Following the success of Transition Extreme’s flagship youth programme, the Alternative Academy, in helping young people to move into further education, employment or training, an Extreme Art School is being launched.

Professor Chris O'NeilThe 10 week community arts programme which starts on Monday (April 27) is a joint collaboration between Gray’s School of Art at Robert Gordon University (RGU) and Transition Extreme and is designed for up to 12 young people aged 16 – 21 who are not in education, training or employment and have an interest in a career in art, design or media.

Almost 200 youngsters have benefited from the innovative and award winning Alternative Academy since it was launched three years ago by the extreme sports centre having been developed with RGU’s School of Health Sciencesunder a Knowledge Transfer Partnership (KTP).
