AB+ : Culture in the North East: Life after the Referendum
February 24, 2015
Our events or going from strength to strength and we are so pleased to see the range of artists and organisations getting involved with AB+. From all of us it’s a big THANK YOU.
Thanks to all who attended our event on Tuesday and made it such a success. With a range of fantastic speakers taking to the floor, the event highlighted the diverse range of cultural activity happening in Aberdeen and it was great to see all attendees networking and making contacts at the end of the evening.
With special thanks going to Natalie Kerr at RGU for hosting the event at Riverside East, which was a fantastic space. Check out our twitter @ABPoz as we live tweeted straight from the event.
Calling All Artists!
Keeping on the theme of success a new Art Project will be coming to Aberdeen this May (Which started from connections made at one of our networking events)
On behalf of Macmillan Cancer Support, SMART invite you to apply to be part of ‘Mark Making’, an exhibition of contemporary art, to be held at SMART’s city centre exhibition venue at Union Square, off Market Street, in a loft style unit overlooking Aberdeen Harbour.
This is an open brief to all creative practitioners working across all art forms and there is space within the venue to exhibit large 3D and sculptural works. We also have eight display cases to showcase jewellery and smaller 3D works.

Good News- Funding Boost for Aberdeen Festivals
We are thrilled to report that VisitScotland has given £25,000 for a new international marketing campaign to promote Aberdeen’s broad range of festivals.
The campaign will aim to align Aberdeen’s festivals, which include everything from music and the visual arts to science and dance, with the city’s rich array of food and drink and its accommodation.
This is fantastic news and will promote Aberdeen’s cultural scene on a wider international scale, boosting not only the cultural status of Aberdeen but also will have major benefits to the tourism industry as a whole.
