Aberdeen City Council’s Creative Learning Team are looking for an individual or organisation to design and deliver a bespoke festival hub space, as part of their Arts Across Learning Festival in 2015.
Creative Learning coordinate the annual month long, city wide, Arts Across Learning Festival, which offers creative learning and cultural opportunities to approximately 7,000 nursery and primary pupils in Aberdeen City during a packed 4 weeks of performances, artists visits, and workshops.
A key part of the festival in 2015 will be a central festival hub space with a difference, in a city centre venue, which will draw different elements of the festival together. The hub will be a unique immersive space and will incorporate elements of light and possibly sound.
Hosted in a mid sized city centre indoor space, the hub will be a carefully structured environment, visually engaging and a flexible and zoned space. The hub will be used as a location for festival workshops for up to 30 primary aged children daily during the festival, as well as being a space for festival artists and teachers to meet at the end of each day to network and share knowledge informally, and for more structured evening talks and CPD sessions.
Creative Learning are seeking to commission an individual or organisation to develop this unique hub space. In partnership with Creative Learning, the successful party will develop the visual design of the space, source materials and undertake installation.
FEE: £6,000, to include all design time, materials, and any travel.
This opportunity would welcome applications from individual artists, theatre and set designers or organisations with experience of designing and producing immersive environments of the highest quality; which are unusual, visually engaging, and which can incorporate creative learning opportunities.
