We are running an exciting new business start-up competition – Enterprising Academies. The completion is open to new starts and recent starts of up to 9 months. The idea is to award the winning business free premises for a year within Northfield Academy. Prior to submitting a business plan and attending a ‘Dragon’s Den’ style panel, all applicants will be given professional support to develop their business idea.
The Enterprising Academies competition aims to generate opportunities for local people to create a sustainable business which will be based in Northfield Academy and operate rent and business rates free for the first year. The winning business will also interact from time to time with Northfield Academy pupils, helping them to develop new skills and inspire them into thinking about business for themselves.
Anyone in Aberdeen with an idea for their own start-up company can enter the competition. Suitable applicants will then receive training in order to draw up a business plan before presenting their vision to a panel of expert judges.
The winner will receive all the help they need to launch their business, while encouraging Northfield pupils to aim high in their academic and professional lives.
Anyone interested in entering the Enterprising Academies competition should contact Aberdeen City Council employability, skills and community enterprise officer Ross Macdonald at email@example.com or on 01224 523621.
