Moving Image Practitioner Belmont Aberdeen
October 24, 2013
The Belmont Picturehouse is looking for an experienced moving image practitioner to deliver a series of filmmaking workshops in Aberdeen City Schools, working with classes of P7 pupils.
Linked to Twinning Aberdeen, pupils from five schools will make 3 minute films about ‘their’ Aberdeen which will have identified screenings in both the Belmont Cinema and in Aberdeen’s twin city in France, Clermont-Ferrand.
The project will encourage pupils to consider their, and their school’s, place in Aberdeen, linking to each school’s curriculum in a unique way. The moving image practitioner will lead sessions which will teach the school pupils practical filmmaking, exploring how the moving image can help them develop and process their ideas, and supporting pupils to produce their final 3 minute films.
In addition the moving image practitioner will support and supervise Film & Television students from Aberdeen College, who will assist the project on a work placement basis.
Contract undertaken on a freelance basis with the Belmont Picturehouse .
