News from Aberdeen’s bid to be UK City of Culture 2017

June 21, 2013

Well, we didn’t quite make it.  As you may have seen on the news Aberdeen lost out to Hull, Leicester, Dundee and Swansea Bay to be on the shortlist to be UK City of Culture.

Thank you very much for your support, your contributions and your enthusiasm.  It has been quite overwhelming.  If you have a second then please go to http://www.twitter.com/aberdeen2017 and look at all the messages of support that came through on Wednesday morning.  It was very special indeed.

There is still political will from Aberdeen City Council to have a year of culture of some form in 2017.

We need your help with what that involves and how it looks.  This is why our programming sessions are still going ahead.  If you have the time then please come along to Seventeen and take part.  The session are on:

26th June – 11am – 2pm

1st July – 5.30pm – 8.30pm

6th July – 11am – 2pm

You can register for these events and contact us about anything on hello@aberdeen2017.com
