Introducing The Craft Scotland Summer Show

April 26, 2013

Craft Scotland announce an exciting new Summer Show that will run for the duration of August in the centre of Scotland’s capital.

The Craft Scotland Summer Show will be an opportunity for both local and international visitors to see and buy high quality Scottish contemporary craft. It will also provide around 50 Scottish craft makers with a fantastic opportunity to showcase their work in Edinburgh during the busy Festival period.

The Summer Show will be sponsored by White Stuff, Edinburgh, and will take place at their emporium on Edinburgh’s George Street. The Summer Show will be presented across the entire second floor of White Stuff. It will be open to the public seven days a week from 02 to 26 August 2013, with an invitation only Private View held on 01 August 2013.

Successful applicants will be asked to volunteer the equivalent of approximately two days of their time at the Summer Show to help facilitate the show, be on hand to engage with the public, promote their work and take advantage of the opportunities that the Summer Show brings. There may also be the opportunity for makers to participate in a programme of talks and events along with Meet Your Maker events.

The Summer Show and participating makers will be promoted via a press and marketing campaign on Craft Scotland’s online channels, through White Stuff, through other partner organisations and in relevant press and publications.

Fiona Logue, Business Manager at Craft Scotland, said: “We are delighted to be working with White Stuff, who have made available to us a large and vibrant space in their premises on stylish George Street. The location will provide makers with an exceptional opportunity to showcase their work during an incredibly busy time in Edinburgh. This show is the second to be announced in Edinburgh this year and makes for an exciting six months for Scottish craft makers”

Applications are now invited from makers who would like to participate at the Craft Scotland Summer Show 2013.
