March 27, 2013

Creative Chair

A freelance arts professional is sought to become the Chair of the Creative Panel for Aberdeen’s year of culture in 2017.

Aberdeen is bidding to be UK City of Culture in 2017. We think we’ve got a strong case, and we’ll find out in June if we’ve made the shortlist.

But whatever happens with the UK City of Culture bid the Lord Provost and the full Council of Aberdeen have made clear that 2017 WILL be a year of culture for the city.

We need someone to help programme that year.

The role of the Creative Chair is to lead a network of local, national and international cultural individuals.

To be eligible for the position, you’ll know all about commissioning and planning major innovative, creative events. You’ll have worked on many projects and activities and have considerable experience of working with creative individuals. You’ll know how to work with some of the biggest organisations in the country to develop high quality cultural opportunities.

You’ll be an excellent communicator, an able chair and you’ll know how to work well with others.

The bid to be UK City of Culture has the potential to do big things for the arts in Aberdeen and in Scotland. Get involved.
