APA & American Conservatory Theatre opportunity

March 18, 2013

Aberdeen Performing Arts is joining forces with the American Conservatory Theatre, San Francisco to offer a fantastic opportunity for young people interested in acting and performing arts as a possible career option.

We will travel to San Francisco on Monday 5th August for 2 weeks to work with an American playwright to stage a rehearsed reading of a brand new play, commissioned especially for this project. In November we will perform a fully staged production of the script in The Lemon Tree.

We are looking for 8 young people aged between 16 and 18 (during the August dates) who are passionate about gaining performance experience in theatre and committed to creating a high quality and exciting piece of theatre. We are not looking for young people who just want a holiday to San Francisco! You must have a valid passport and be able to get your own travel insurance.

Successful applicants must be willing to support fundraising for this project. Each participant will need to fundraise £250 towards the cost of the project.

Auditions will be taking place on Thursday 2nd May and will involve you performing a prepared monologue and participating in a workshop.

To book an audition slot or to ask for further information please contact Claire Davidson, Acting Creative Learning Manager. Claire.davidson@aberdeenperformingarts.com
