Aberdeen – a vision for a thriving and vibrant city centre | March 2013

March 6, 2013

An event titled, “Aberdeen – a vision for a thriving and vibrant city centre”, will take place at Aberdeen Art Gallery on Wednesday 6th March at 6.15pm.

The event, organised by Robert Gordon University (RGU), will consider how the city of Aberdeen can be regenerated so as to be a centre of industry, creativity and culture, with a world class quality of life.

Professor Ferdinand von Prondzynski, Principal of RGU, assembled a group of experts in architecture, retail, tourism, transport, sustainability and the creative industries to work on a report on the future of Aberdeen city regeneration, which will be launched at the event.

Professor von Prondzynski said, “We believe that the interest and passion aroused by the City Gardens project on both sides can be harnessed to prompt a debate and action to secure a better future for Aberdeen.  We hope that this event and report will act as a catalyst to kick start this discussion.”

A digital copy of the report, “Regenerating Aberdeen – a vision for a thriving and vibrant city centre” can be obtained on request from the RGU Communications Office.  The contents of this report will be under embargo till 00.01 Thursday, March 7.

Members of the media are welcome to attend the event, with parking available in the quad at Schoolhill.
