The Internet presents us with a variety of visual imagery: artist work, media images and a mass of personal images posted on social networking sites. Having this abundance of material so readily available presents great opportunities for education and research but it is also presents the temptation to appropriate and re-contextualize what we consume visually. In this lecture artist educator Lesley Logue, currently a Senior Lecturer at the University of East London and registered on the Professional Doctorate programme there, will question notions of originality within contemporary art, focusing on printmaking and examine to what extent the appropriated image is renegotiating the meaning of the original.
