The scheme provides opportunities for biomedical researchers to travel between the UK and the Middle East. It offers applicants the chance to undertake short-term visits of up to four weeks to further their research experience and learn new techniques, with the aim of establishing research links and developing ongoing scientific collaborations.

Since its launch in 2008, the scheme has awarded ninety-six Travel Fellowships, to researchers from all countries eligible to apply.
