Creative Scotland: Writers’ Projects 2013

November 17, 2012

Here at Playwrights’ Studio, Scotland we want to stimulate, support and enable you, as a playwright, to develop your work in a way that suits your creative process.

As a professional playwright you can apply for up to £3,250 to support any aspect of your writing development.

You must have had at least two plays professionally produced in order to apply.

A limited number of Writers’ Projects are available. In selecting which ones to support we will consider:

– The originality and ambition of your ideas

– How the project will contribute to the development of your writing

– How it will benefit your career

Here are some examples of ways which you might like support:

– Time away on a writing residency

– Research for your writing

– Contracting a director and actors to develop your script in a workshop

– Inclusion of other artists in a collaborative process (musicians, dancers, visual artists, etc.)

We will support ideas that go beyond these suggestions.

We will manage the project for you, providing administrative support and handling all the financial management, and will work closely with you to ensure that the project successfully meets your needs.
