Nominations open for voluntary music composition award | Voluntary Arts
May 24, 2012
Deadline: 12 July 2012
Nominations are now open for the Making Music category of the 2012 British Composer Awards. The category serves to recognise composers of new works written especially for voluntary or amateur music groups. This year, the category has been widened to celebrate all works written for voluntary, amateur or youth ensembles.
The British Composer Awards are presented by the British Academy of Songwriters, Composers and Authors (BASCA) – the professional association for music writers of all genres in the UK – and celebrate the art of contemporary music composition. They are sponsored by PRS for Music in association with BBC Radio 3, with exclusive coverage on Radio 3 leading up to the ceremony, and a special show featuring winning recordings.
The closing date for nominations for the Making Music category is Thursday 12 July and we are inviting nominations from groups large and small. Further details can be found at http://www.makingmusic.org.uk/bca.
